About Mrs. Hoggan
My name is Jessica Hoggan. This is my seventeenth year of teaching and I absolutely love it!! I’m thrilled to be teaching 1st Grade at Edith Bowen! Especially because I am an Edith Bowen graduate—it feels as if I’ve come full circle. I have no doubt that the outstanding education I received at Edith Bowen influenced my decision to become a teacher. While it has been MANY years ago, the philosophy of the school hasn’t changed. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Utah State University, and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Reading Endorsement, an ESL Endorsement, and many in-service and college credits from various educational workshops. I began my teaching career in Logan, teaching at Ellis Elementary for four years. From there I taught for six years at The Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City, then moved back to Logan and taught at Bridger Elementary for five years and this is my second year here at Edith Bowen. I couldn’t be happier to be here! During my teaching career I’ve taught fifth, fourth, second, and first grade, giving me much experience with children of all ages. I am truly devoted to my profession. I love teaching and continue to learn so much from the children I teach. My educational philosophy is reflected throughout my classroom and in my teaching methods. I look forward to spending this school year with you and your child and appreciate the opportunity to expand your child’s mind and horizons while s/he does the same for me!
